The TekInd BlueTooth Freedom EID Reader
Because the reader is a bluetooth reader, the reader can communicate with a PDA or PC up to 30 feet away. The reader is a universal 134.2 Mhz frequency reader, it will read all current manufactures EID ear tags. The read distance is between 3 and 6 inches, about average for battery powered EID readers. When reading a tag, the TekInd reader will make a ticking sound, indicating it is attempting to read a tag. When a successful read has been accomplished, a different tone is emmitted. The TekInd Reader is compatible with the CowRecords Palm and the CowCalf5 palm software. By using the combination, you can assign an animal an EID tag, or search for an animal by scanning an EID tag. This EID reader is ideal for entering EID tags at calving time, or when running animals through a chute or alley.

with any BlueTooth enabled Palm Pilot. The reader measures 7 X 3 1/2 X
1 1/4 inches, and can be powered by AC, rechargable batteries or 4 standard
AA batteries.
